Our Fall Concerts for a Cause Helped Feed Nearly 300 Local Families In Need
Waterset’s Fall Concerts for a Cause series was a huge success this year, thanks to the amazing residents of Waterset! Due to unforeseen circumstances as a result of the back-to-back hurricanes in our area, the concerts had to be moved from The Lakeside to The Waterset Club. Despite this minor setback, we saw the highest attendance we have ever seen and are so incredibly proud of how much food we were able to collect and donate to The Community Cupboard that goes to feeding families in need in our community. Especially during the holiday season, and on top of that, with all of the devastation that occurred throughout the community, we are so appreciative of everyone that was able to offer assistance and donate in whatever way they could to this cause. That is what this community and the concerts are all about!
We had such a great time dancing, singing, eating and spending time with friends and family during these 4 weekends. We had everything from pop to reggae and rock and roll music! Thanks to all of you, our wonderful neighbors, we collected nearly 2,000 pounds of food, $500 and in total were able to provide 292 meals to families in need in the community. The Community Cupboard down in Ruskin feeds over 500 families each week and has an amazing food drive that helps those in need in our community every Tuesday morning. We are so happy to be able to be a part of something so amazing that allows us to lend a helping hand to such a wonderful organization.
Thank you all for your tremendous generosity during this difficult time and we so appreciate everyone that came out to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and entertainment with us. We sincerely hope you enjoyed yourself and had a wonderful time at the concerts and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
